Windows 11 and Server 2025 Compatibility
Micro Focus (the developers
of the AcuCobol family of products such as AcuCobol Runtime,
AcuServer, and AcuXDBC) have released new 10.5 versions of
their products that are certified to be compatible with
Windows 11 and Server 2022. For Server 2025, AcuCobol
has certified version 11.0. For in-house testing
purposes we have had a Windows 11 PC and a server running
Server 2022 and 2025 both for some time now, both without any known
significant issues that would affect most users.
However we wanted to qualify that version 10.5 of the
Runtime and AcuServer released by Micro Focus are the newest versions currently available that are technically certified
for Windows 11 and Server 2022 (although it appears to work
sufficiently on more recent versions as well, from best we
can tell as well as some customers have already upgraded
with this qualification in mind). Version 11.0 of the
Runtime and AcuServer are the first versions certified for
Server 2025, however, once again, more recent versions seem
to still work fine on Server 2025 from what we have seen.
