FAQ #: 130
The items listed in the "Reconcile Deposits" do not match the deposits I took to the bank.

Answers has two methods for displaying "deposits".

If you are using the Bank Deposit Ticket feature in Accounts Receivable, each time you print and close a bank deposit, the total amount from that deposit ticket is recorded. If you have Answers configured to do so, the "Reconcile Deposits" will show these deposit ticket amounts. This is a configuration option under General Ledger, Advanced Options. This is the ideal way to reconcile your bank deposits, because if you print and close a ticket in Answers and then take that to the bank, they should match.

If you are not using the Bank Deposit Ticket feature, or you have not enabled the configuration option in General Ledger, Advanced Options, then the "Reconcile Deposits" window will show you each journal entry posted to the cash account from Cash Receipts, Order Processing, and Miscellaneous Cash Posting. They will be individual journal entries from each time you ran and updated the journal. If you combined mutiple journals onto one actual bank ticket, then you will have a harder time reconciling the deposits. In this scenario, the ideal would be to print and update the journals and make that a deposit ticket at the bank. This will make it simpler to reconcile the deposit amounts.
