FAQ #: 140
The figures printing on the Financial Statements do not match the figures in the General Ledger Account Inquiry and - or the Trial Balance.

There may be several reasons for this.

1. The Financial Statements include all figures for the account(s) including entries that have not yet "posted" to the master file. So, all entries in the requested date period from the J/E Activity and the J/E History tab are included on the Financial Statements. The Trial Balance may or may not print all the entries depending on whether it is told to include entries from history, and the Trial Balance may not include entries from prior periods if they have not yet been posted.

2. Verify the date ranges for the Financial Statements. The Financial Statements ask you for the "period" but not the beginning and ending dates for each period. You can see the date ranges by clicking on the Calender icon in the Financial Statement Management program and reviewing the from and to dates for each period.

3. Keep in mind that the Financial Statements can handle up to two open fiscal years and calculate End of Year and Start of Year balances appropriately. The Trial Balance can only really be printed for the first open fiscal year and have proper beginning and ending balances.

4. The Financial Statements may be adding multiple accounts together. You can "analyze" your financial statement using the magnifying glass. This "prints" the Financial Statement to the screen in a mode where you can click on the figures and view the accounts that may be combined to come up with that amount. The account, as well as the amount from each account is shown.
