FAQ #: 33
How do I print a copy of the screen?

Answers provides a built in feature that allows you to print, capture, or view a screen snapshot image. This feature can be accessed using the "Shift" and the "F8" key. When those two keys are pressed, the user will be given the option of printing, saving, or viewing the image. Printing allows the user to select a printer and the screen image is sent to the printer. Saving will save the screen image as a .bmp image in a user selected folder that the user can use later as desired. Viewing will open the image as a .bmp in the default bitmap viewer program on the PC. Some programs in Answers also have the screen print/capture available from the right-click or pull-down menus, but it is can be accessed in all programs using the "Shift" + "F8" keys. If desired, users can also use traditional Windows functionality to capture and print a screen:

1) Hold down and press . Nothing obvious will happen, but the contents of the current window (not the entire screen including the task bar, clock, etc.) will be placed in the Windows "clipboard".

2) Start up a word processing application such as Microsoft Word, or Wordpad (which comes on practically every P/C) and then click on the "Paste" toolbar button or on "Paste" under the "Edit" menu. You will then see a copy of your window's contents in the new document.

3) Now click on the "Print" toobar button or on "Print" under the "File" menu to print the document containing your screen to the desired printer.
