FAQ #: 77
I receive error 3000 on PRINTRAW or 3000 on PRINTNB when I try to print.
First, verify that the printer you are trying to use is working properly from other Windows based software programs. For example, try to print from Microsoft Word, WordPad, NotePad, etc to the same printer. (Printer names in Answers and in other Windows programs are the same). If the printer does not work properly, or at all, from other programs, you need to perform the necessary troubleshooting steps to get the printer working from Windows in general.
If the printer seems to be working from other Windows programs, and just not from Answers, then the most likely cause is that the "default" information stored in Answers for that printer does not match the printer. This situation can occur if a printer is moved from one PC to another, if a printer is renamed, or if a printer driver or other setup information is modified. There may also be other reasons for this to occur, but these are the most likely. To remedy this situation, proceed through Answers until you receive the Printer Selection Window. The default printer is shown. Click "Other Printers" to access the list of printers defined for Answers. Click "Printer Setup" > "Printer" and proceed to select the printer and it's settings just as if this were a brand-new printer. Realize that you may have to change the printer's font and font size as well. This will re-establish the printer's default settings in Answers.
Lastly, if the printer is configured on the server or on another PC (ie. It is not attached to the PC you are trying to print from), you may want to reboot the server and/or PC the printer is attached to. If the system resources on the server or PC are low or there is a problem with printing on that PC or server, then you will have problems using the shared printer as well. Reboot both machines to have a clean start and clear system resources and try the print job again.
