FAQ #: 84
The quantity that the Suggested Purchase Order Review program shows me to buy, is not correct, based on what I have available and on back order.

When the Inventory Review Reports run, the quantity available, quantity back ordered, and quantity on order is stored in the suggested purchase order files. These are the quantities used to calculate the suggested purchase order quantity. When the Suggested Purchase Order Review program is used to review items suggested for purchasing, the system compares the current quantity available, on order, and on back order to the quantities that were on file when it last reviewed the item. If the quantities have changed, the system will place a "~" character beside of the item to draw it to the buyer's attention. The suggested purchase order quantity may not be correct on these items, due to the quantity change, and the quantity should be corrected before approving the item for purchasing.
