FAQ #: 92
What is Spooled Reports Management? How do the reports get into Spooled Reports Management?

The Spooled Reports Management program provides a way to view, print, and delete spooled report files.

Spooled report files can be created one of two ways. In some programs, Answers creates spooled report files automatically. Programs may automatically create audits and journals on the system. When an audit or journal is created and not printed by a program, it is sent to the Spooled Reports Management program. Secondly, spooled reports can be created by users. When printing from Answers, the printer selection screen allows the user to select to "Spool" a document, or to "View" a document on screen. Documents that are spooled or viewed on screen and not deleted will show up in the Spooled Reports Management program.

A "spooled" report file is simply a text file that contains a printed report. Deleting a spooled report does not delete the data, only the report itself.
