FAQ #: 93
When I use the check reconciliation program for Accounts Payable, it still shows the checks written in Payroll.

The check reconciliation programs on the Accounts Payable menu are the same programs also found on the Payroll menu. The programs are located on both menus for convenience. Checks written though Accounts Payable are stored in the same file as the checks written for Payroll. When Check Reconciliation is used and a bank account number entered, by default, any check written on that account will show up, regardless of the program used to write that check.

To remedy this, and have only the Accounts Payable checks show when the Check Reconciliation programs are used in A/P, a switch can be added to the programs on the A/P menu. This can be done through the Menu File Maintenance program. By default, the programs for A/P are found on the APMENUCR menu and the switch to add is A. This will prevent any user using the Check Reconciliation programs from the A/P menu from seeing checks written in the payroll module.
