FAQ #: 94
When I use the check reconciliation program for Payroll, it still shows the checks written in Accounts Payable.

The check reconciliation programs on the Payroll menu are the same programs also found on the Accounts Payable menu. The programs are located on both menus for convenience. Checks written though Payroll are stored in the same file as the checks written for Accounts Payable. When Check Reconciliation is used and a bank account number entered, by default, any check written on that account will show up, regardless of the program used to write that check.

To remedy this, and have only the Payroll checks show when the Check Reconciliation programs are used in Payroll, a switch can be added to the programs on the Payroll menu. This can be done through the Menu File Maintenance program. By default, the programs for Payroll are found on the PRMENUCR menu and the switch to add is E. This will prevent any user using the Check Reconciliation programs from the Payroll menu from seeing checks written in the a/p module.
