Locking an item or vendor in Suggested  P/O Review

Beginning with Answers 4.4, released in September 2013, Suggested P/O Review now allows "locking" an entire vendor or individual items within a vendor.  Locking a vendor or an item will prevent additional changes or updates being made to the vendor or items in Suggested P/O Review by the system until "un-locked" or placed onto a purchase order.

The advantage of being able to lock a vendor or item is that you may have made changes to items such as the Suggested P/O Quantity or Unit Cost but you are not quite ready to issue the P/O just yet.  Locked vendors or items will not be updated by subsequent Daily Inventory Reviews even if the computer feels like it needs to be because of factors influencing the suggested information changes.  This allows you to make changes to suggested items over time without worry of losing your changes each night (or whenever an Inventory Review is run) because your changes do not necessarily match the computer suggestions.

These options are available from both the pull-down menu bar and the right-click menu on both the vendor summary review screen and the item review screen in Suggested P/O Review.

When a vendor is "locked", an "L" will appear in the far right PO column instead of the usual "Y" or "N" indicating whether a P/O was created or not the last time you reviewed this vendor.

When an item is "locked" the typical "A"pproved or "H"eld status code in the far right column will change to a lower-case "a" or "h" to indicate the the item is both Approved or Held but "locked".
