General Ledger Journal Entry Import
The Journal Entry Import program allows you to easily import journal entries and have them made as if you had keyed them in manually using the Journal Entry Import program. This program allows you to use a tab-delimited text file, which can easily be created in Microsoft Excel.
The text file should contain the account number (ten digit account numbers need to include the dashes 00-00000-000 and five digit account numbers should just be the digits), a comment, debit amount column and a credit amount column.
The Import Program allows you to enter the entry data such as the source and entry date, and then import the entries out of the file.
A preview will be presented and debits must match the credits total before the import will be allowed. If the user approves the import, the journal entries will be made as shown on the audit.
