Description Wrap Feature in Order Entry and P/O Entry

The newest release of Answers provides a description wrap feature that can optionally be enabled to make the entering of long descriptions easier.  This works in conjunction with the concept of having an item listed on one line with its first line of description and all of its pertinent info such as quantity, price, cost, product code, vendor, etc. and then followed up with one or more comment lines further explaining the item and listing any more details needed.  This would be similar to entering the first line of the description that would fit on the main order line item and then using comment lines or the Automatic Comment feature to finish up describing the item in more detail.

If enabled, the user is allowed to type more than the maximum description/comment length of 34 characters into the Description cell of the grid.  When this feature is enabled and the line is eventually left and saved, the original line will contain as much of the description as it can (up to a maximum of 34 characters) with the remaining description broken into comment lines with a maximum of 34 characters each.  The program will break long descriptions apart between the words the best it can.  The user may still want to use the Automatic Comment window to adjust spacing, line breaks, indention, etc. to improve readability even further depending on the type of wording desired.  Once a line has been added, editing existing lines will still stop the cursor after 34 characters.

This feature can be enabled on a user-preferences basis by clicking on “OptionsŕDescription Wrap on New Lines” from the pull-down menu bar across the top of the Order Entry and Purchase Order Entry programs.  Additionally, this setting is remembered upon exit and re-entry into the programs on a per user basis.
