Windows Shortcut Keyboard Combinations available in Answers

Beginning with Answers 4.4, released in September 2013, Answers will recognize some of the more popular Windows keyboard shortcuts for entry and text fields.  While some users may never have heard of these or never have used them, those that consider themselves power users  know that they can save time, typing, and mouse-clicks by learning a few of these shortcuts that apply to many Windows based programs and even web pages.  These are now available in Answers in all Entry Field boxes including single line and multi-line boxes such as those for notes and comments.  These can be especially helpful when entering things like names, addresses, notes, email addresses, etc.  Because with these you can copy and paste text within Answers or from/to other programs such as emails and web-sites without having to re-type data.

Here are the shortcut keyboard combinations that you may find helpful in Answers Entry Fields.

Unfortunately these keyboard shortcuts do not work in grids such as Order Entry detail lines, P/O Entry detail lines, Kit Maintenance, Related Item Maintenance, etc.  This is due to a limitation in the AcuCobol Runtime that runs all Answers programs and therefore is out of our control at this time.  However there are a few alternatives that you can use that do work in grids as listed below.
