Order Entry & P/O Entry Comment Improvements
Last fall's release of Answers included several new features to make it easier to deal with and see comments that are relevant to both sales orders and purchase orders. These new features include:
Customer Standard Comments can now be checked to
automatically print on P/O's issued for a sales order for
the customer. These can be especially useful on
factory direct sales orders and P/O's as it allows a way to
convey standard shipping or other information to your vendor
for P/O's going direct to your customer. If there are
Customer Standard Comments that do apply to the P/O, the
icon will display beside the customer # on the Detail tab of
P/O Entry.
If a sales order has notes that is linked to a purchase
order line, a
notes icon will be displayed beside the sales order number
on the P/O line in P/O Entry. The user can then view
and edit the sales order notes by clicking on this icon
right in the Detail tab of P/O Entry.
If a sales order has comment lines that are set to print on
the P/O to which it is linked, a
icon will be displayed beside the sales order number.
The user can then view those sales order comments by
clicking on this icon.
If a sales order that is linked to a P/O has both notes and
comment lines, then a
icon will be displayed beside the sales order number.
In this case the user can click this icon to view both the
sales order header notes and the sales order line item
comments.
If a purchase order has notes that is linked to a sales
order, a
notes icon will be displayed beside the purchase order
number on the sales order line in Order Entry. The
user can click this icon to view and edit the P/O notes if
needed right from the sales order line in the Detail tab of
Order Entry.
Similar capabilities are available in the Open Orders tab of Customer Inquiry and Open Order Search windows and the Purchase Orders tab of Vendor Inquiry and P/O Search windows by right-clicking on line items that are linked between sales orders and purchase orders. The right-click menus provide options to View Sales Orders, View Sales Order Notes, View P/O (or RMA), and View P/O (or RMA) Notes to aid in viewing information stored on one that may be relevant to the other.
