New & Improved Searches for G/L Accounts, Product Codes, Customers, and Vendors
The current release of Answers allows easier searching for Product Codes and General Ledger Account Numbers. Previously users would typically have to click a search icon (typically represented by binoculars) or possibly a drop-down arrow to initiate a search.
While these options still remain, users can also now simply start typing the Alpha Key of a General Ledger Account or any portion of a Product Code Description right from within a G/L Account # or Product Code entry field to initiate the search, thus saving keystrokes if the user has a good idea of what they are looking for. These new searching techniques are available throughout the system in practically all areas that prompt for either a G/L Account # or a Product Code (used for classifying Inventory and Sales Analysis).
These searches work very similar to the way Customer and Vendor Alpha Searches can be initiated by simply starting to type the Alpha Key of a customer or vendor instead of having to use the binoculars search icon button to initiate a search for any fields prompting for customer or vendor numbers.
The Customer related searches available via the drop-down arrow in programs such as Customer Inquiry and Cash Posting will now "remember" the previously entered search criteria during the same program and default back to it on subsequent searches until the program is closed. Of course the search criteria can be easily changed if a new search is desired.
The Customer P/O # Search available from the drop-down arrow in Customer Inquiry and Cash Posting will now search all customers and can also search for just a partial P/O #.
The Vendor related searches available via the drop-down arrow inVendor Inquiry will also "remember" the previously entered search criteria during the same program and default back to it on subsequent searches until the program is closed just like the customer searches listed above. Of course the search criteria can also be easily changed if a new search is desired.
