Customers can now be setup to be invoiced thru their own online portal as some larger companies may be pushing you to do.  This works by setting the Automatically Send Invoice option to "WEB=Invoice Portal" instead of emailing or faxing the invoice to one or more contacts.  This option is found on the Setup Options tab in Customer Maintenance.

If this option is selected from the drop-down list but no website portal address has been entered yet in the "Options" pop-up window below, the Auto-Send Options window will pop-up and place your cursor in the "Invoice Portal Website" field.

When a customer is setup using this new option and they are invoiced thru Order Entry or batch Invoice Printing, the program will notify the user that this customer is setup to be invoiced thru a web portal and prompt them if they would like to visit their web portal now and if so to click on the hyperlink to be taken there, which will will then open up the web portal link in the user's default web browser.

When running invoices in batch the user can also select an option to have each customer's portal site open automatically in a browser without having to click on the hyperlink shown for each one or they can select to bypass the window with the understanding that they may still need to visit these portal sites later and enter in the necessary invoice information required by each customer.  This pop-up window also provides a button to view a PDF version of the invoice to assist in entering the invoice into the customer's portal. 

Note that no invoice information is uploaded or transferred to the portal automatically since it is likely all customer portal will operate differently.  The purpose of this feature is to stop and remind users invoicing to update the portal so that this step is not missed since these type customers are not likely to want a printed or email copy of their invoices, unless they want them uploaded via their portal.
