Assigning Multiple Salespersons to Customers and Ship-To's

Order Entry has had for many years the ability to assign multiple salespersons to an order or even an individual line item or items on an order.  But the customer master and ship-to file have always been limited to one default salesperson number.

Now, you can assign multiple salespersons (up to 3) to customers and alternate ship-to addresses.  You can assign each of the salespersons a certain percentage for which they will receive credit.  These salesperson numbers and corresponding percentages are then defaulted onto the order header as new orders and quotes are entered in Order Entry.  To do this, you can click on the multiple salesperson icon in Customer Maintenance and also in the Ship-To Address Maintenance window.  You can view the split salesperson setup information using this same icon in Customer Inquiry and in the Ship-To Address Inquiry window.

This feature allows assigning a shared percentage of selected customers to 2 or 3 salespersons instead of just one with each one of the salespersons getting the percentage credit that is assigned to them by default.  Of course, once this information is defaulted into Order Entry, you can change it as before on an order-by-order basis or even on a line-by-line basis which overrides the order header.
