Expanded Quick Links Menu Features

The "Quick Links" menu is the far right strip of optional programs when viewing the Answers Menu.  This far right pane of programs can be maintained by the users to store a list of programs that are commonly accessed to provide quicker navigation than going thru various menus and sub-menus.  Users can add their favorite programs to this list and remove unwanted programs from this list as their needs or job duties change.

Starting with the fall 2017 release, users can now add up to 100 Quick Links to their Answers Menu (up from the previous limit of 10).  Additionally, if the main menu is enlarged enough vertically, users may be able to see more than 10 at a time depending on their screen size and resolution.  If a user adds more Quick Links than can be shown at one time based on the height of their menu, a vertical scroll bar will appear to the right of the Quick Links pane allowing them to navigate up and down to access all of their Quick Links.

Additionally, users can now right-click on a Quick Link menu line and move the selection up or down in the list.  These options provide an easier way of managing the order of Quick Links especially now that you can have more than 10, as opposed to having to delete and re-add them in the desired order as in the past.

System Administrators may also edit Quick Link menus for other users using the Menu File Maintenance menu.  The primary Quick Links menu for each user will have a Menu Name of "QLINK" and then the User Name will match the login name of the user.  The default Quick Links menu will have the User Name field blank.  The default (blank user name) Quick Links menu is only used if a user has never made any additions or deletions to their Quick Links menu on their own nor had any made for them by an administrator.

Along with the Menu Search added in a prior release, this is another feature designed to make the navigation to the vast array of programs available easier and faster to access from the Menu system.
