Ability to Mark an A/R Invoice as Disputed

A new feature is available in Cash Posting and Analysis windows such as available in Customer Inquiry and the Credit Management Work Center that will allow marking an invoice as “Disputed” by the customer.  Disputed invoices will be treated differently in some aspects by many programs.

You can mark invoices as Disputed in Cash Posting by using the option off the right-click menu or the Apply pull-down menu bar with the desired invoice high-lighted

Likewise, you can mark invoices as Disputed by right-clicking on a high-lighted invoice in Analysis tabs and windows in programs such as Customer Inquiry and the Credit Management Work Center.

nvoices can be removed from a Disputed status using the same right-click or pull-down menu bar options and also by clicking on the Disputed icon  that is displayed in front of an invoice amount that has previously been marked as Disputed.

A convenient Invoice Notes button is provided in the Dispute confirmation window to allow easily adding notes as to why an invoice is being disputed if needed

Disputed invoices will not be considered in credit control calculations including not being considered past due even if they would be otherwise and not counting against available credit and credit limits

Disputed invoices will be listed along with Deferred amounts on Ageing Reports due to lack of room for a separate dedicated column.  However they will be flagged with a question mark symbol following their invoice number “?” similar to how Deferred invoices are flagged with a “D” following their invoice number to indicate the Disputed status of the invoice

Disputed invoice totals will be shown separately from other ageing categories in Customer Inquiry, Credit Information window, and several of the Credit Management Work Center tabs including the Hot List tab, Customer Aging tab, and the Customer Payment History tab
.

This feature is enabled by default but can be controlled both at a system-wide level and an individual user level.  A Standard Accounts Receivable option (# 30) allows disabling or enabling it on a system-wide basis.  Then a User Profile option (#19) can be used to override the system configured option on a per-user basis to allow you to fine tune who all can flag or un-flag invoices as disputed.
