Spell Check Feature
The comment entry windows found in Order Entry and Purchase Order Entry have a spell check feature added in Answers 4.6.
The spell check feature must be invoked on each PC individually, as it requires a local dictionary and auxiliary file to work. To enable the spell check feature, from the Main Answers menu, click on Options > Spell Check Options. In this window is a check box that allows the spell check to be enabled, as well as some options that control how the spell check will handle various words and errors.
When enabling the Spell Check Feature, users need to also click on Help > Verify Answers Installation from the main Answers menu so that the auxiliary file and dictionary needed for the spell check feature are installed. This must be done on each individual PC.
The spell check options control how incorrectly spelled words are handled. There are different options for how it will treat words not found in it's database, including numeric strings, words with numbers, and suggesting split words. These options are controlled by user. Each user can set their spell check options differently as desired. Each user will also have a "user dictionary" to which the spell check can add words.
The spell checker is invoked when clicking OK to leave the comment window. Any misspelled word will produce a notification to to the user with suggestions for correcting. The user can Ignore, or they can add to the dictionary, or they can select or type a correction.
If corrections are made, the user will remain in the comments window. This is because the spacing of words and lines may change as misspelled words are corrected or duplicate words removed. The user has the opportunity to adjust the lines and spacing as desired. If misspelled words were "ignored" and not corrected and not added to the dictionary, a misspell notification will be given again if the words have not been corrected and any further changes were made in the comments box. (If the user changes anything in the box, including the spacing, and there are still misspelled words, they will be notified of them again because any edit to the comments invokes the spell checker).
