Standard Comments that can Automatically Insert into Orders/Quotes
Customer Standard Comments now offer an option that can be checked which will cause the comments to be automatically added to the beginning of an order or quote when a new order or quote is started for that customer. This differs from the check-boxes that instruct the comments to print automatically on certain forms without them actually be added to the order by the user.
When this new "Add to Order" box is checked and a new order or quote is started for the customer, these comments will be automatically added as the very first lines on the Detail tab so that they are visible right in Order Entry. Again this differs from those that just print and are not actually added in as line items to the order or those that have to be added manually by the user when desired on a particular order or quote.
If any of the form specific check-boxes are also checked, then these comments will be copied onto the order and also set to print on the specific forms that are checked. If no specific form check-boxes are checked, then the comments will still be copied automatically in as line items, but they will not print on any forms unless change by the user once inserted. They will still show in the Detail tab of Order Entry and other inquiries for open orders and quotes.
This new feature can make a comment that you wish the user to see directly on the screen while entering line items (independently of whether they should also be printed for others or customers to see show up automatically without a user having to remember to add them manually using several of the methods available in Order Entry for doing so (i.e. from Automatic Comment window, or searching for Customer Standard Comments from the toolbar icon, drop-down menu bar, or right-click menu.
