Changing Sold From Warehouse # on Orders, Quotes, and Transfers

Answers 5.0 adds the ability to change the "Sold From Warehouse #" on a Sales Order, Return, Quote, or Warehouse Transfer even after the transaction has been started and even if detail line items have been entered already.  This saves from having to delete and re-enter the transaction if it becomes necessary to change the Sold From Warehouse.   Once a transaction is started and the Sold From Warehouse # and Order/Quote/Transfer # is accepted and your cursor moves on down into the tabs, there will be a new Change Sold From Warehouse #  icon located immediately to the right of the warehouse # (in place of the warehouse # search that is present on a new transaction).

Warehouse #'s along with order #'s, return #'s, quote #'s, and transfer #'s (herein referred to as the Control #) become the "key" to many order, return, quote, or transfer related files.  Once you are past the Warehouse and Control # field, this warehouse # field becomes disabled and is a display only field.  If the "Sold From Warehouse" needs to be changed once a transaction is started or even saved, you can do so by clicking on the   icon immediately to the right of the Warehouse # field.  You will then be prompted with a window asking what warehouse # you want to change to.  If you answer this prompt, you are then given a confirmation prompt.  If you respond affirmatively to that prompt, all files related to this order, return, quote, or transfer that were previously coded to the original "Sold From Warehouse #' will be converted over the new "Sold From Warehouse #" just assigned.

At the conclusion of that process, you will then be prompted (except on Warehouse Transfers) if you also want to change the "Ship From Warehouse #" to match (if the Ship From Warehouse was the same as the original Sold From Warehouse).  If the Ship From Warehouse did not match the original Sold From Warehouse, then you will not receive this prompt automatically, but can still change the Ship From Warehouse if desired.  Warehouse Transfer must always have these two warehouse numbers matching, so they will be automatically updated to make the Ship From Warehouse match the new Sold./Transferred From Warehouse, without an additional confirmation prompt.

Note that depending on  the complexity, amount of information entered, and number of line items on the transaction, changing the Sold From Warehouse # affects a large number of files, so you may see a pause while all the relevant files are updated with the new warehouse #.  You may also receive several prompts such as those related to the updating of Purchase Orders linked to Sales Orders or Vendor Returns that are linked back to Sales Returns.  This is especially true if you also agree to change the Ship From Warehouse # to match.  So, pay special attention to how those should be answered properly in regard to the changing of warehouse numbers.
