Improvements in Email Recipients and CC Recipients

Answers 8.0 makes it easier for users to email forms or attachments in regards to selecting recipients and CC recipients.  These additions apply to most windows that allow emailing forms out of Answers and include the following:

    • The primary recipient can be easily selected from a list of recently used email addresses from that user’s Answers Email History using the binoculars button to the right of the email address.

    • The primary recipient can be also easily selected from the Contacts setup for the customer, prospect, vendor, or manufacturer depending on the type of form being sent.
    • CC Recipients are now much easier to add and more flexible.  To manage the list of CC Recipients to be included on any email, you can click on the  button to the right of the CC Recipients list in the email window.  This will pop-up another window where you can add, change, delete the CC recipients to be included in this email.  From this window you can add more contacts, other Answers users, other email addresses from history, or manually add in a CC email address.
    • Additional Contacts windows have been changed over to list out contacts for customers, prospects, vendors, and manufacturers using a “grid” control.  This allows for the resizing of the Contacts window, individual columns, horizontal scrolling, sorting on relevant columns in ascending or descending order using the white arrow icons in the header row, and improved searching of all displayed columns.
    • A new Search box has been added to the bottom of the Email Address History Search that is kept for each user.  This new search feature will search all columns of the email address history to make it easier to find the desired recipient based on their name, company name, email address, or even part of the subject line of a recent email.

    • The Email Address History search window can be sorted by any column by clicking on the column heading in blue.  An arrow will display to the right of the column heading to indicate which column is currently being used for sorting.  The sorting can also be reversed (descending order versus ascending order) by clicking the column heading again.
    • Note while Answers allows for up to 99 CC recipients to most emails, your mail program or provider may not allow this many.  In particular users setup in Answers to use one of the SMTP send-only type background email programs are currently limited to 3 CC's per email.  Email programs such as Outlook are much more flexible in this regard.  But also note that even if your email program allows more, your email provider may still impose a maximum number they will accept.
